She played a leading role in the 1997 minor dance film Looking for Lola, but is best remembered as the guest star of Ampata Gutierrez (aka Inca Mummy Girl) from Season Two of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Ara Celi has achieved fame as an American writer, actor and producer for her roles in Machete (2010) American Beauty (1998) as well as Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997).
